Biography
Waz is a guitar-based composer, and one half of the composing duo WAZ-JACKSON with his wife and creative partner, Jamie Jackson. Originally from Cleveland, Waz began his career touring with Pete Yorn during the Musicforthemorningafter era. His roots as a guitarist and songwriter continue to shape his approach to scoring - melodic, instinctive and driven by texture, experimentation and unexpected sound.
As WAZ-JACKSON, he and Jamie have developed a distinctive voice across film and television, collaborating with some of the industry’s most respected creators.
Their current slate includes Bad Monkey for Apple TV+, Scrubs for ABC and NBC’s upcoming The Rockford Files.
Drawing from ambient, experimental and global influences, Waz blends guitars, analogue textures, organic percussion, vocals and strings into music that moves easily between the intimate and the visceral, always with a strong melodic undercurrent.
