Biography
Puerto Rican-bred and Atlanta-raised, María Zardoya is the frontwoman of Grammy-nominated band, The Marías, known for their dreamy fusion of psychedelic rock, jazz, and Latin influences. Through the releases of two critically acclaimed albums, Cinema and Submarine, Zardoya has charmed audiences with her bi-lingual sultry vocals. The singer-songwriter has been instrumental in earning The Marías the reputation behind their impressive upward trajectory, including two Grammy nominations, a Billboard chart-topper, and collaborations with some of the biggest names in Latin Music. Zardoya is featured with Bad Bunny on “Otro Atardecer” off of Un Verano Si Ti, and most recently co-wrote and sang vocals on Selena Gomez & Benny Blanco’s “Ojos Tristes,” which garnered over 20 million global streams in less than a week of release and debuted at #59 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On the band's sophomore album, María’s trance-inducing vocals transport you to a place of solitude and exploration. Submarine was released to wide critical praise and debuted at #17 on the Billboard Top 200. Hit single “No One Noticed” marks the band’s highest charting Billboard Hot 100 single, reaching #22 with 34 consecutive weeks and counting.
