Biography
Jacob Yoffee is a Los Angeles-based composer & music producer working in film, television and trailer music.
He has scored several series including NBC/Universal’s Bel-Air, ABC’s The Wonder Years, Peacock’s Vampire Academy, Disney’s hit show, ‘Andi Mack’, from the creator of Lizzie McGuire, Don’t F**k This Up for Kevin Hart & Netflix, ‘Age of A.I.’ with Robert Downey Jr., Amazon’s Free Meek docu-series, which was produced by Jay-Z, ‘Ingress the Animation’ an anime series for Netflix and MTV’s Finding Carter series.
He has created custom music for the trailer campaigns of Star Wars : The Force Awakens, Marvel’s Secret Invasion, The Adam Project, Disney’s Aladdin, Ready Player One, Star Wars : The Last Jedi, Rogue One : A Star Wars Story, Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Men Tell No Tales, Disney’s The Jungle Book and Kubo & the Two Strings.
He is known not only for his solo work but also his collaboration with Roahn Hylton. Known as ‘Th3rdstream’ the two have collaborated on episodic and feature projects for the better part of a decade. The two released ‘Love & Blood’ in 2022 that features guest artists Skylar Grey, Jordin Sparks, Iyla, Gizzle and many more of their favorite vocalists.
Their first collaboration was LeBron James ‘Best Shot’ series, for which Warner Bros released the soundtrack on their Water Tower label, ‘Sherwood’ an animated sci-fi series on YouTube Premium, MTV’s ‘Finding Carter’, which received an ASCAP Screen Music Award, Showtime’s award-winning ‘Time of Death’ series and the WIGS series, directed by Rodrigo Garcia starring America Ferrera & Julia Stiles.
As a feature film composer Jacob has scored over twenty-five feature-length projects including Pawn, an action-thriller starring Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker, Ray Liotta & Michael Chiklis and A Resurrection, starring Mischa Barton and the late-great Michael Clarke Duncan.
Jacob's concert music has been performed in the US and Great Britain at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Royal Academy of Music and on BBC Radio. Jacob was signed to Inner Circle Music Records in 2007, releasing his debut album, "Dead Reckoning." The album's release concert rave reviews in the New York Times and was featured on the cover of Saxophone Journal magazine.
He holds degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Orchestral Composition & Jazz Performance and a Master's degree from New York University where he studied with Ira Newborn, Sonny Kompanek and Deniz Hughes. While at Peabody he studied with composers Morris Moshe Cotel, Christopher Theofanidis and the saxophone legend, Gary Thomas. In May 2012 he was awarded 'Outstanding Recent Graduate' from Johns Hopkins University.
