Biography
Best known for her unconventional musical styles and introspective songwriting, Lorde became an international crossover hit singer and songwriter in 2013 with her debut studio album, Pure Heroine. The album's debut single, "Royals," remained at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart for a total of 9 weeks-- making her the youngest pop-star to achieve this feat since 1987.
"Royals" also earned the young artistic visionary 2 Grammy Awards in 2014 for Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.
In 2017, Lorde released her sophomore album Melodrama to widespread critical acclaim, earning a Grammy nomination for Album Of The Year. Her latest 2021 album, Solar Power is a psychedelic pop and indie folk effort driven by acoustic guitar arrangements, marking a departure from the dance-oriented, synth-heavy music of her previous albums. Solar Power also topped the U.S. Billboard Alternative Albums chart.
